We love our church. It has been a wonderful blessing in so many ways for us since we started going to it. That said, Memorial Day weekend was no less enjoyable. There is rarely anything that I can find near us that is free, fun, and for kids (let alone families and friends). This is the second year that they have done this event, but man do they do a great job or what! Our church puts on this pig roast. They serve hamburgers, hotdogs, and every kind of fixing (provided by all of us, kind of a big potluck!).
The best part is the stuff they bring in for the kiddo's. I wish you all lived closer so you could enjoy it with us. At the last minute Jer's folks came down, we got to go to the beach that weekend, but for Monday we went to the pig roast. They had a water slide, firetrucks for the kids to climb in and out of (the firemen and woman handed out these coloring activity books to them as well), a petting zoo, pony rides, games, prizes, live music, and a dunk tank. All of it free! As you can see we all had a blast!
