The Cohanzick Zoo

I love finding places to take Andrew that are educational and cost little to nothing, especially in this economy and our current situation. So, I was very happy to hear about this zoo that is about 20 minutes or so away from us from a fellow mom from storytime. We have the Cape May Zoo, which is by far an amazing zoo with many wonderful features. Cape May Zoo has a much bigger zoo with many more animals, more extensive property, bigger animals, and a huge playground area that is broken up into a big kid and a little kid area, along with a picnic area, too. The big bonus about that zoo is that it is free, free admission and free to park, they only take donations. The downside is that it takes a little bit longer to get there, longer time and more gas. So I was very happy to find out about the Cohanzick Zoo. It is about 20 minutes away, free to park, and free admission, of course like the Cape May Zoo they take donations. It is set in a nicely shaded area. It has a much smaller picnic area inside the zoo and quite a few less animals, but just the right amount for Andrew. Also, unlike the busyness of Cape May Zoo, the Cohanzick Zoo doesn't attract a large crowd, so you can take your time with each area, walk as slow, or as fast as you want!

The water wheel at the front of the zoo!

silly me, I didn't take a picture of any of the animals! Oh well, next trip. Oh yeah, they feed their tiger at a certain time every day, so if you want to watch you can go around that time to the exhibit and see! haven't done that either, hopefully next time!
