The Easter Egg Hunt

Each year our church holds an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. The older kids come and hide the eggs for the little ones and help with the crafts, too! Andrew is of course not quite old enough to understand what is going on, but since he is mobile, we thought it might be fun to participate! Thanks to my mom and dad, we got some great pictures of the event! Here's Andrew (with the help of Jer and myself) doing his first craft at church! It is a little fence with a cross made out of little tiles, glued on to it...on it we wrote "He is Risen". The ladies in charge of the craft tied a string on to it in order to hang it.
Andrew actually picked out his tiles, of course we didn't give him a chance to eat them!

After the craft, the older kids came down and got the little ones to take them to their designated rooms in the church (it was raining outside). They seperated the older kids from the little ones so every kid could have a chance at finding the eggs. I was told to help Andrew, so he would get a bunch.

There was another room in which they started youngest to oldest. Each child could pick up 5 eggs each. Andrew was the youngest so he and another little girl got to go first. The rest of the kids were blindfolded and had to crawl on the ground to get their eggs! It was quite amusing to watch!

All in all, the kids had fun! Andrew collected 17 eggs in all! The thing I love about our church is that the eggs were filled with chocolate! Yum! After the egg hunt everyone retreated downstairs for cupcakes and decorating cookies!
