This year Bodie got the Ugly Candle. I gave it to Keri last year for Christmas. The Ugly Candle is a LaCoe family tradition. Each year the recipient of the candle is suppose to display it with great pride in their home (a place of honor) for the year. At the end of that year they will decide who will recieve it for the next year. They must write a letter telling about their experience and joy of having the candle in their home, where they displayed it, what they learned, etc... The candle is wrapped in the same box every year and has all the letter's of those who recieved the candle in the past. At Christmas-time this candle is given to whom the bearer chooses; it is opened, the letter is read aloud to everyone present, and the tradition is continued for the next year. So far Bodie is the youngest to recieve it! Hint: He was not very impressed by it.
